My name is Victor Demydov (or Victor Demidov, depending on who you ask).
Born in Ukraine, I got introduced to computers in early 1996.
My original interests were graphics and 3D animation, however in late 1996, I took a brief BASIC programming course – and got hooked ever since.
Using a shiny-new 28.8K-baud US Robotics modem, I first logged on to the internet sometime in 1997. A month afterward, I was creating personal pages on Xoom and lurking around Usenet. It was a beginning of a life-long attraction.
A year later, I immigrated to the United States.
After attending Pascack Valley High School,
I moved on to Rutgers University to obtain my degree in Computer Science.
However, after two years I chose to transfer to Fordham University.
In December 2006, I graduated Cum Laude with a B.S. degree in Business Administration and Management of Information Computer Systems,
as well as specialization in Global Relations.
I am a member of Beta Gamma Sigma and Phi Beta Kappa.
Throughout high school and college, I worked at a company which imported and designed surgical instruments, eventually becoming an IT Manager there. I also ran MissingScrew – a consultancy which created custom software and did web development for a number of clients. In January 2007 I joined one of investment banks in New York, and have been there since.
In my spare time, I work on all kinds of fun projects to keep myself on the edge of latest technologies.
I try to stay active, physically fit, and have fun in everything I do.
